Content Day

How much content can be made in a day? You’d be surprised!

In the brave new world of short social media videos, we’ve found an easy way for clients to get on video more often: we do it with them.

We’ve started the practice of doing quarterly filming days with some of our clients to get short-format video content. We also use these content days to take product photos, business photos, help input content into the POS system, or anything else we can do to move things forward, content-wise.

Content Day Steps

Planning

Create a spreadsheet of video/content ideas ahead of the visit so the client can consider who should be in them; if other footage will be needed to supplement (ex: they have a video from their supplier demoing the product); and other organizational pieces. This makes sure we get what is essential to the client done while also giving room for creativity.

Shoot Day

We show up for an entire workday with our supplies and get all the footage we can. We like clients to feel at ease when we film, so we take our time to get them comfortable on camera and film the spontaneous ideas that might come up (from them or us) during filming. We are no television production company, but we can often get around 50-100 videos/photos done, plenty for social media postings for the months to come!

Organizing

The days after, we download, name, and organize the files to share with the client via Google Drive or Dropbox. This way, we have video and photo footage to work with for online videos on social media, and the client has clips they can use for other purposes, like on their website or in a television commercial.
