Too Cute Tuesday (TCT) is a weekly event on the Breaking Even blog that involves friends, crafting, and cocktailing. Every week it’s a different, inexpensive craft to make and a different, fun cocktail to keep things social. If you have an idea for a craft or otherwise want to participate, contact Nicole. Is that a WordPress wine charm sitting on a recycled computer motherboard coaster? Nicole's house is now just a little geekier.

This Tuesday was a quiet one here at Craft Central. With everyone out with family, or on dates, or just staying inside and safe from subzero temperatures and strong winds here in Maine, I (Nicole) crafted alone this evening.

Realizing earlier in the week that we had an abundance of glass beads in our stash, I tried unsuccessfully to think of a creative way to use them. Stuck, I took the predicament to the Facebook page for ideas. Jodi of Living The Road Less Traveled recommended I make bookmarks, sun catchers, or decorative glass tags (for parties). Kelly at Almost Frugal seconded the notion of wine glass tags, suggesting I use hook earring bases as the part that loops onto the rim of the glass. TCTers are so smart!

Materials
Glass beads
Magazines, printouts, or other paper decorations for the charms (I made my own social media charms on my new printer
Glue (Elmer’s or Modge Podge, something water soluble)
Scissors
Paper clips (to create clasps)
Glue gun and glue (to attach paper clip to glass bead)

Cocktail of the Night: Black Box wine

1. Take out your crafting supplies and pour yourself a glass of wine.
2. Decide that since you are a computer nerd (and all these social media and open source software have cool icons) to make computer related wine charms (Facebook, Blogger, WordPress, Twitter, Digg, and Joomla! icons in case you were curious).

Sure, you could measure but eyeballing to make sure things are approximately the right size also works.

3. Put icons on a page, using a glass bead on your screen to estimate what size they should be. (Make sure you are looking at 100% of the size!) Print.
4. Making a circle template that’s the size of your bead, cut around each icon.
5. Use Elmer’s glue (just a bit) to stick the icon to the glass bead. Pretty!
Making these glass beads pretty is so easy, you'll want to make earrings, bookmarks, and all kinds of pretty things!
6. Plug in the glue gun to warm things up. While waiting, bend paper clips into approximate ring shapes. (Note: Kelly’s idea would have worked better but you may have been too lazy and too frugal to leave the house and purchase them. You might want to invest though if you are giving these to someone else!)
7. Glue gun the bead to the metal. Let cool.
8. Attach to glass and pour another glass of box wine. Pretty and functional! Aren’t I crafty!
