It has long been a friend of Too Cute Tuesday Facebook friend Kate to visit Too Cute Tuesday in person in Bar Harbor. This week, she was able to make it happen on her vacation.
We tried to pick a craft that Kate could take home. I’m not sure who sent this in (so if you did, claim it in the comments and I’ll credit you in the post!) but I thought sailor bracelets were perfect. Nautical and something Kate could cherish forever… you know, until we started trying to make them.
She came. She attempted. She takes a good craft fail photo. Kate and her attempted bracelet. Oh well, we tried!
Kate to her credit found a nautical themed cocktail to go with the mixers we had on hand. Heave-ho!

Cocktail of the Night: Warped Bermuda Triangle, 1 oz. spiced rum, 1 oz. peach schnapps, fill with juice (supposed to use orange, we ‘warped’ it with pomegranate lemonade)

1. Open up the website directions and attempt to follow the visuals. Hope friends who are good at this sort of thing show up. Sadly, August is busy with regular Too Cute Tuesdayers so it was just Kate and I (and briefly, Jen with ice cream).
2. At the end of steps 1-7, you’re supposed to have a braid. Well, this kind of looks like a braid… Have visiting friend make up the cocktail. That we can do!
3. Attempt the bracelet five-ish times, having parts that look right and parts that don’t. Realize if you had enough time, you could figure this out. Decide to watch bad internet television instead.
See, part of my attempt was right. Just not enough of it to make something nice!
I have a theory. My best customers are people who have attempted website work before then call me when they realize it’s harder than they expect. I’m guessing that many attempting the sailor bracelet will just go to the guest bloggers Etsy store and buy their own for $25.
Aren’t we crafty… at least in our attempt!
