Nice, Sean. That's good to know. I've been lucky enough to pay for heat but I guess my estimate was pretty conservative. And I can set the temperature!

I am also excited to have a compost pile (Sean) and work out at home more (Sarah). And I can actually have people come over and have it not be crowded! Yay! - Nicole

In my epxerience, provided heat is worth WAY more than $60/month. Probably closer to $100 or $120. And, hopefully you get to set the thermostat.

Also, as a total aside - if you don't like stinky trash, start a compost pile or a worm bin (conveniently stashed in a closet). Or maybe your apt will have a garbage disposal! The stuff that stinks most in the trash is stuff that was once alive. Minimize that and you'll save $$ on less bags of trash at the dump and skip the associated yuckiness. - Sean

Hey Nicole,

Good for you to look at so many places! I'm definitely a comparison shopper, like you. One thing I love about having a bigger space is being able to exercise in the apartment. I've heard lots of great ideas, including having a workout video or even just having room to do situps every so often. And that would save you the cost of joining a gym (if you were so inclined)! - Sarah
